Homecoming 2012

It’s all over but the great memories that 800 former students and staff took home with them! The TH&VS school reunion in August was declared to be a success by all who attended.

"I had a wonderful time meeting school mates, some from 60 years ago, and wandering around Timmins which has changed over the decades. I even enjoyed the retro fashion show. Everything was superb. I cannot thank you enough for looking after every detail and providing an opportunity to return to my roots." Keith O’Brien, Class of 1955

The program on civic holiday weekend met the diverse needs of all that attended. Beginning with a visit to Decade rooms on Friday and the Sonic Democracy concert in the theatre, alumni then attended a retro "Blue & White" Party at the Mac. Saturday began with a breakfast for staff prepared by Tech teachers, followed by a Vintage Fashion Show and a dinner & dance at the Mac. Sunday's football game was a big success. The inclement weather necessitated a move indoors to the Mac for the TH&VS Alumni concert on Sunday and the Sons of Maxwell concert on Monday. The William Aide Concert at the Museum was a highlight for many.

The Homecoming Committee would like to thank our community partners including the City of Timmins and the District School Board Ontario North East for their generous support. In addition, we appreciate the financial assistance and in-kind donations of organizations and businesses in the community whose support ensured that the weekend was one to remember.
